ADUR SAILING CLUB SUPPORTERS

The Adur Sailing Club is run entirely by volunteers for the benefit of the local community. The club strives to keep its costs low in order to set fees that are affordable by as many people as possible. We have been helped to do this by the very generous support of the organisations listed below for which we are truly very grateful.

In no particular order...

When one of our RS Feva hulls died of old age the Eric Twineham Trust provided the funds to purchase a new one as well as a trolley and cover to protect it from the weather so that it will last us for years to come.

Sussex Sailability provides sailing opportunities for people with a wide range of physical, sensory, learning and other disabilities or difficulties. We have a Sussex Sailability access boat on loan to allow us to provide independent sailing to members that would otherwise not be possible.

Sport England

With funds generated by the National Lottery and distributed by Sport England we have been able to purchase our new Rigid Inflatable Safety Boat. Adur Ribellion has opened up sea sailing as an option now that we have the capacity to keep the expanding club safe on the open water.

WSCC

Some of our boats are ready for retirement. With the generosity of West Sussex County Council Community Initiative Fund we have been able to start bringing our fleet up to date. We still have a way to go but WSCC have taken us a long way on our renewal programme.

South Coast Trailers

Adur Ribellion wouldn't get on the water without a trailer to move her around.  Thanks to the generosity of our friends at South Coast Boat Trailers launch and recovery is a piece of cake. Well almost...

Merricks

A grant from John Merricks Sailing Trust allowed us to buy a new Pico and kick off our renewal programme.

The first boat in our fleet of Picos was funded by the RYA Foundation who also helped us to get discounted prices for subsequent boats.

RYA
Port

Shoreham Port Authority is a big supporter of the Adur Sailing Club and has recently provided an award from its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund. Their donation has part funded Adur Ribellion, our new safety boat, as well as providing a secure container to keep her in.

If you or your organisation would like to help kids in the local community to develop through sailing then Zoe would love to have a conversation with you.
